SUPPLIER BIODIESEL CHAIN

The complete circle of biodiesel production is consisted of the following productive unit

  • Seed crusher: for the oil reception from oleaginous seeds
  • Refinery: for the ennoblement of the seed oils
  • Main Unit of biodiesel production for the chemical transformation of veg-oil triglycerides to methylesthers.

Seed Oil Production Stage

Right after the reception and storage of the oleaginous seeds, the cleaning procedure begins with the sieving from alien matters, followed by the fracturing and roasting and the flake crushing procedure and finally by the pressing procedure where the seed is pressed for partial oil extraction which is filtered and stored.
The next stage is the extraction of the oil from the cake with the aid of a chemical solvent and then follows the removal procedure of the solvent from the extracted oil and cake. The circle is completed with the roasting,
drying cooling and grounding of the flour.

Refinery Production Stag

After the degumming of the oil for the removal of phosphatides, the neutralization of the free fatty acids takes place. The dewaxing stage occurs in case of usage of crude sunflower oil. For the deodorizing of the oil is necessary a stripping column while the complete refining of the oils, ends with the stage of discoloration, where is fisible the removal of any colorant substances, metals, phosphorous, saponifiable matters etc

Biodiesel Production Stage

When the oil refining stage is completed, then follows the transesterification reaction in two stages, the flashing of raw biodiesel for removal of methanol, the separation of biodiesel and glycerin by gravity , the biodiesel washing with  water and organic acid solution and the final flashing of washed biodiesel for removal of water and methanol. The unit is completed with the distillation column of methanol.

Processing of raw glycerin

After the first flashing for the removal of methanol follows the acidification of glycerine with hydrochloric acid solution and starts the production of free fatty acids.  Then follows the separation of acidified glycerine and free fatty acids by gravity. The free fatty acids are collected for further trading while the acidified glycerine is neutralized with sodium hydroxide solution and enters in two flashing columns for further removal of water and methanol.
This glycerine is called “technical grade” and is ready for trading.
